Important Notice Before You Delete
Account Deletion is Permanent and Irreversible
Once you delete your Glis account:
- All your data will be permanently erased from our servers and cannot be recovered
- You will lose access to all premium features and content
- Your subscription will be cancelled (if active)
- All your photos and analysis results will be deleted permanently
- You will not be able to restore your account or any of its data
- This action cannot be undone – there is no way to recover your data after deletion

- You can delete individual photos or analysis scans from within the app
- You can clear your skincare routine history

How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the mobile app:
- Open the Glis app
- Go to Settings → Account Management
- Tap “Delete Account”
- Read the warning and confirm deletion
- You’ll be automatically logged out
Deletion happens immediately – the entire process takes about 15 seconds.
Option 2: Email Request

What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your Glis account, everything associated with your account is permanently removed. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown:
Personal & Account Information
Completely Deleted:
- Email address and login credentials
- User profile and account settings
- Display name and profile information
- Account creation date and metadata
- User ID and internal identifiers
- Authentication tokens and session data
Result: You will no longer be able to log in, and your account will not exist in our system.
Photos & Media Files
Completely Deleted:
- All skin analysis photos you’ve uploaded
- All progress tracking photos (before/after comparisons)
- All photo storage files from our cloud storage
- Photo metadata (upload dates, file names, etc.)
- Thumbnails and processed versions of photos
Total Removal: All photos are deleted from both our database records AND cloud storage buckets. This includes:
- Analysis scan photos (stored in analysis-photos/)
- Progress scan photos (stored in progress-photos/)
- Any legacy or temporary photo files
File Count: The system will delete every single file associated with your user ID, regardless of when it was uploaded or which feature created it.
Analysis & Health Data
Completely Deleted:
- All skin analysis results and AI-generated insights
- Skin concern assessments and severity ratings
- Progress tracking data and improvement measurements
- Analysis history and scan metadata
- Comparison data between scans
- AI processing results and recommendations
- All health and wellness insights
Skincare Routines & Products
Completely Deleted:
- All personalized skincare routines (AI-generated)
- All custom routines you created manually
- Product recommendations and history
- Products you’ve added or tracked
- Routine schedules and timing preferences
- Product usage logs and tracking data
- Ingredient preferences and sensitivities
Notes, Logs & Daily Tracking
Completely Deleted:
- All personal notes and journal entries
- Daily skin logs and condition tracking
- UV exposure logs and sun protection data
- Symptom tracking and observations
- Custom tags and categories
- Reminder history and notification settings
Subscription & Payment Information
Subscription Handling:
- Your active subscription (if any) will be cancelled immediately
- You will no longer be charged for future billing cycles
- Access to premium features will be revoked immediately
- Subscription history and transaction records will be deleted from our system
Important Notes About Payments:
- Google Play Store / Apple App Store: Your subscription is managed by Google or Apple, not directly by us
- Refund Policy: Deleting your account does NOT automatically trigger a refund
- Current Billing Cycle: You may have already been charged for the current period
- Refund Requests: If you believe you’re entitled to a refund, please contact Google Play or Apple App Store support directly
What We Delete:
- Subscription status records
- Premium feature access logs
- Billing cycle information stored in our database
- Payment method tokens (we never store full payment details)
What We Don’t Control:
- Payment history in Google Play or Apple App Store
- Refund processing (handled by Google/Apple)
- Subscription cancellation in their systems (we recommend canceling there too)
Authentication & Security Data
Completely Deleted:
- Email/password authentication credentials
- Google OAuth tokens and connections
- Apple Sign-In tokens and connections
- Multi-factor authentication settings (if enabled)
- Biometric authentication links (Face ID, Touch ID)
- Session tokens and refresh tokens
- Password reset tokens and recovery codes
Security Cleanup:
- All active sessions are terminated
- All login tokens are invalidated
- OAuth connections are severed
- You’ll be immediately logged out from all devices
Local Device Data
Completely Deleted:
- All data stored locally on your device
- App preferences and settings
- Cached photos and data
- Onboarding completion status
- Feature flags and experiment data
- All scheduled push notifications
- Google OAuth cache (to prevent login issues)
Total Cleanup: The app performs a complete wipe of all local storage, clearing over 50+ different data keys to ensure nothing remains on your device.
Analytics & Usage Data
Completely Deleted:
- Feature usage statistics
- App interaction patterns
- Session duration and frequency
- Screen view analytics
- Error logs and crash reports associated with your account
- Performance metrics tied to your user ID
Note: Aggregated, anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for product improvement purposes.
What Data We Keep (Absolutely Nothing)
Short Answer: We delete EVERYTHING.Unlike many services, Glis does not retain any user data after account deletion:
No Personal Information Retention
- We do NOT keep your email address
- We do NOT keep your name or profile
- We do NOT keep any identifiable information
No “Soft Delete” or Backup Period
- We do NOT keep backups of deleted accounts
- We do NOT have a “recovery window”
- We do NOT archive deleted user data
No Analytics or Aggregated Data
- We do NOT retain your photos
- We do NOT keep your analysis results
- We do NOT store your health data in any form
No Legal or Compliance Retention
- We do NOT keep data for legal purposes after deletion
- We do NOT maintain records for compliance (unless legally required by court order)
Exception: If we are legally required to retain data due to:
- Active legal proceedings
- Government investigation
- Court order or subpoena
- Tax or financial regulatory requirements
We will notify you if any legal obligation prevents immediate deletion.
Data Retention & Deletion Timeline
Immediate Deletion (In-App)
When you delete your account through the mobile app:0-5 Seconds:
- Storage files (photos) are identified and marked for deletion
- Database records are deleted in sequence
5-10 Seconds:
- All database tables are cleared of your data
- Authentication records are removed
- Your auth.users account is deleted
10-15 Seconds:
- Local device storage is wiped
- Notifications are cancelled
- OAuth cache is cleared
- You’re logged out and redirected
Total Time: ~15 seconds for complete deletion
Email Request Deletion
When you request deletion via email:Day 1-2:
- We receive and verify your deletion request
- Identity verification is completed
- Request is queued for processing
Day 3-5:
- Manual deletion is processed by our support team
- All data is removed following the same process as in-app deletion
- Confirmation email is sent to you
Total Time: 3-5 business days
Permanent Deletion from All Systems
Cloud Storage:
- Photos are immediately deleted from storage buckets
- Files are permanently removed (no soft delete, no trash)
- Storage space is freed immediately
Database:
- All records are immediately deleted
- No archival or backup copies are created
- Data is immediately gone from all database replicas
Cache & CDN:
- Any cached data expires within 24 hours
- CDN cached content (if any) expires within 48 hours
Backups:
- While we maintain database backups for system reliability, your deleted data is NOT recoverable from backups
- Backup snapshots containing your data will naturally age out within 30 days
- We do NOT use backups to restore deleted user accounts
After Account Deletion
What Happens Next
Immediate Effects:
- You are logged out of all devices
- You cannot log back in with the same credentials
- All app functionality is disabled for your account
- Premium features are immediately revoked
Within 24 Hours:
- All server-side data is confirmed deleted
- Cache systems are cleared
- Any remaining temporary files are purged
Within 30 Days:
- Any backup snapshots containing your data age out
- All traces of your account are removed from all systems
Can I Create a New Account?
Yes! You can create a brand new Glis account at any time:
Using the Same Email:
- You CAN create a new account with the same email address
- The new account will be completely fresh – no data from the old account
Fresh Start:
- You’ll go through onboarding again
- No previous data, photos, or settings will be restored
- You’ll start as a completely new user
Free Trial Eligibility:
- Google Play / Apple App Store Policy: Whether you’re eligible for a free trial depends on your Google or Apple account history
- If you previously used a trial with the same Google/Apple account, you may not be eligible for another trial
- This is controlled by Google and Apple, not by Glis
Cannot Restore Old Data:
- You CANNOT recover data from your deleted account
- There is no way to merge old and new accounts
- Starting fresh means exactly that – a completely new beginning
Security After Deletion
Your Account is Secure:
- No one can access your deleted account (not even Glis staff)
- All authentication tokens are invalidated
- OAuth connections are severed
- Password reset links are disabled

- Your deleted data cannot be recovered by anyone

If You Have an Active Subscription
Important: Deleting your Glis account automatically cancels your subscription in our system, but you should also cancel through Google Play or Apple App Store to ensure you’re not charged again.

Can I recover my account after deletion?
No. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, all your data is gone forever and cannot be recovered by you, Glis support, or anyone else.
Will I get a refund if I delete my account?
Deleting your account does NOT automatically trigger a refund. Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple App Store based on their policies. See the “Refund Information” section above for details on how to request a refund.
How long does account deletion take?
- In-app deletion: Immediate (10-15 seconds)

Can I cancel my subscription without deleting my account?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription through Google Play or Apple App Store without deleting your account. You’ll still be able to use the app with free features.
What happens to my photos after I delete my account?
All your photos are permanently deleted from our cloud storage immediately. This includes:
- Analysis scan photos
- Progress tracking photos
- All photo metadata
There is no way to recover these photos after deletion.
Can I download my data before deleting?
Currently, Glis does not offer a data export feature. If you’d like to keep your analysis results or photos, we recommend taking screenshots or saving copies before deleting your account. We’re working on adding a data export feature in the future.
Will Glis contact me after I delete my account?
No. Once your account is deleted, we will NOT:
- Send you marketing emails
- Contact you for surveys or feedback
- Send you promotional offers
- Add you to any mailing lists
The only exception is if we need to contact you regarding a legal matter or if you contact us first.
Can someone else delete my account?
No. For security reasons, only YOU can delete your account by:
- Logging into the app and using the in-app deletion feature
- Sending a verified email request from your registered email address
We will never delete your account without your explicit request.
I forgot my password. How can I delete my account?
If you can’t log into the app:
- Use the email deletion request method (see Option 2 above)
- Email us from your registered email address
- We’ll verify your identity and process the deletion
Alternatively, you can use the “Forgot Password” feature in the app to reset your password, then delete your account through the app.
Will deleting the app delete my account?
No! Simply uninstalling or deleting the Glis app from your device does NOT delete your account or data. Your account and all data remain on our servers. To fully delete your account, you must follow the deletion process outlined on this page.
What if I accidentally deleted my account?
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a deleted account. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. This is why we show multiple confirmation screens before deletion. If you want to use Glis again, you’ll need to create a brand new account.
Does Glis sell my data after I delete my account?
No. Glis does NOT sell user data – not before deletion, during deletion, or after deletion. When your account is deleted, all your data is permanently removed from our systems. There is nothing left to sell.
Is my data really deleted, or just hidden?
Really deleted. We do NOT use “soft delete” or hide your data. When you delete your account:
- Records are permanently removed from our database via SQL DELETE commands
- Photos are permanently deleted from cloud storage
- There is no “trash” or “recycle bin”
- There is no recovery mechanism

Will my analysis results be used for research after deletion?
